We had been neighbours to the couple at Lesquite for 30 years and when dairy farming became too much for Richard and I, we were offered Lesquite which was virtually 2 up and 2 down.
Lesquite was and is beautiful, we have planted dozens of trees, an eclectic mix perhaps not the choice of a professional gardener, hundreds of bulbs and many roses, and a large
heather bed all adding to the colour we hope to have all year long.
Perhaps I should introduce ourselves. I’m Annette a dairy farmers daughter born and bred in Cornwall, Richard is a man of Kent and a dairy farmers son.
At a very early age although I could milk cows and handle stock, farming certainly wasn’t an early ambition! When I met Richard who was about to emigrate to
Canada it rapidly became one. We married and farmed very happily for many years first as dairy farmers and now as an organic meat and vegetables farm.
Starting from scratch doing bed and breakfast, we felt that it was essential to have good quality mattresses. Many people have found them so comfortable that they have
gone away with the make and all details in order to purchase one for themselves.
We believe that breakfast must also be good and we try to have a good selection for those who want traditional Cornish fare, and you can enjoy our freshly laid eggs
and perhaps home grown tomatoes and potatoes, all supplied from our organic Soil Association registered farm. What ever you choose there will be a selection of cereals,
fresh fruit and home made preserves, some of which can be purchased from us, tea coffee and herbal teas are available.
Vegetarians are most welcome, and will be catered for depending on their dietary requirements.
The water is our own from the sub strata below Lesquite, and is freshly pumped on demand and filtered. Try it!
